With gum disease affecting higher amounts of people every year, it’s an awesome time to know about the disease and its signs. We’ve assembled this list of warning signs for you to check, so please read over it and phone us for an appointment if you detect any of the warning signs in your own mouth.
One of the initial signs you should look for is red, tender, swollen or bloody gums. When the acids inflame the gums, they should turn from a pink color to a red one. Receding gums may also be an indicator that your gums are swollen. While it’s kind of hard to tell what’s triggering bad breath, the underlying cause could very well be gum disease. Additionally, any pearly whites that look or feel like they could fall out could be a result of inflamed gums. Likewise, any change to the fit of your teeth or dentures might also be a warning indication that you are developing gum disease. If you are uneasy about checking for any of these warning signs, we would be happy to check every one of them with you during your next checkup.
